Romeo The Cat Raises Rescue Funds With Twitter

Here’s a unique and innovative way of using social media: Romeo the cat (and his buddy Pugsley) are using Twitter to raise funds for rescue organizations. For every follower they get on Twitter, they donate 5 cents to animal rescue. Twitterers are encouraged to donate to the cause, as well.
For the month of March, 2009, I’m pleased to report that the proceeds from the campaign will go to Animals in Distress, the no-kill shelter at which I volunteer each week. I offer Reiki to the animals there and hold Reiki classes for the volunteers.
If you use Twitter, please support Romeo‘s campaign by following @romeothecat on Twitter.
Button’s Miracle

Button is a Jack Russell Terrier who at the age of 8 weeks suffered a broken back. She was brought to Animals in Distress in Coopersburg, PA. Her vet had recommended Button be put down due to her injuries. The good people at AID had her checked out by a veterinary neurologist who said that with cage rest there was a good chance she would recover.
I volunteer at AID offering Reiki to the animals and staff once a week. I met Button just before she was seen by the neurologist and pretty much weekly thereafter to offer her Reiki. As you can see below, she made quite a remarkable recovery from a very serious injury.
Button has since been adopted and has a wonderful forever home with another of AID‘s volunteers. Please visit AID‘s web site, or their facility in you’re in the area of Coopersburg, PA. They do wonderful work there and are deserving of all the support they can get.
